Rick Sisko
Chief Strategy Officer
Rick Sisko is Chief Strategy Officer of Sandridge Crafted Foods, with responsibility for corporate strategy and people development across the company’s primary business units. He moved into that role in 2022, after seven years as the company’s President. Rick serves on a management team charged with transitioning his previous responsibilities to the third-generation of Sandridge family leadership.
“What I love about Sandridge is that we can be nimble day-to-day while maintaining a long-term view, even if it means a negative impact on short-term results”. As an example, he cites the company’s early investment in High Pressure Processing (HPP), which facilitated the company’s evolution from a regional producer of wet salads to nationwide provider of fresh foods to the retail and food-service sectors.
“When we purchased the HPP equipment, we didn’t have a single dollar of sales to run through it at the beginning. We let our innovation team experiment with it for a year; we had the ability to make that type of investment,” he says.
Rick’s favorite recipe at Sandridge is one of its oldest: Grandma’s Cole Slaw. But he most admires how the company continues to seek out and utilize advanced technologies in the preparation of its many products: “We are an intellectually curious company and our desire to stay on the cutting edge of food technology shows in the investments we have made over the years. A recent example is our newest soup room, which uses advanced kettle cooking technology and robotics. I really enjoy how we constantly challenge each other to find new and better ways to do things.”
Personal Life
Before coming to Sandridge, Rick was CFO at Meier Holding LLC, which operated industrial supply businesses in Ohio and throughout the Southeast US.
He serves on the board of the Medina County Port Authority. Rick is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. He and his wife Rhonda live in North Royalton, OH, where they raised three now-grown children.
Outside of work, he enjoys health and fitness, an occasional round of golf, and travel to warm climates.
