What are the advantages of High Pressure Processing and how does it affect me?

High Pressure Processing, or HPP, is an advanced food processing method that uses cold water under extremely high pressure to kill bacteria in food. Since harmful bacteria are destroyed, we are able to eliminate the use of preservatives and expand our distribution. For the consumer this means great tasting products with a wider variety of ingredients and ultimate food safety.

How long are your refrigerated products good for after they've been opened?

Our products can be enjoyed for up to three to five days after opening if they are sealed properly and refrigerated. However, products should never be consumed after the use-by-date.

What does the "use-by-date" on a container mean?

The stamped date on the product, known as the use-by-date, is the last day the product is guaranteed to be of good quality. The product should be discarded after this date.

Where can I find the "use-by-date" on my container?

The use-by-date is usually printed on the outside edge of the container, just under the lip of the lid. In some instances the use-by-date is printed on one of the labels on the container. If the product has a sleeve around it, the use-by-date will be printed on both the sleeve and on the lid of the container.

I'm having trouble opening my container – any suggestions?

Locate the "break" tab on the outside edge of the container, just under the lid. Once you break this tab, grab the lid and peel it back. For soup containers with an inner film, carefully run a small paring knife along the edge of the film next to the container. Once you are about a third of the way around, the film should peel off the rest of the way.

Does Sandridge use high fructose corn syrup in its products?

High fructose corn syrup is the most common added sweetener used today in processed foods manufactured in the U.S. There is powerful scientific evidence and agreement that high fructose corn syrup is safe and nutritionally the same as sugar.
